Flounder season opens today

The flounder season has officially started today and minnows are flying out of here. I am still a huge fan of Berkley Gulp and would never use live bait again but the salts still can't get away from the squid and minnows. Here is the big decision for a lot of guys......The stripers and drum are still all over the beach but now you can target the flounder hmmmmmm???????  We had a huge school of drum swimming past our beach and everyone who had a pole in the water caught a drum. All in the 30-40 pound range. There has been a steady striper bite of the past couple of days and the guys have been very quite about it. Tuesday and Wednesday were pretty slow and we must have been in between schools as the past couple of day have been good. I had my first weigh-in of the morning as Jeff Smith just came in with a 23 pounder caught up at the north end. We are loaded with bait but don't have any bunker as of yet. Mr Smith will be getting out there today but has been coming back with only 15-20 fish :(  . I am sorry about the lack of posts the past couple of days but we have been very busy at the shop and it has been hard to sneak back here to post the reports. I will update later when we weigh the first flounder in.

 Thanks and good luck

Capt Andy
