Well, I guess we were a little late for the 2008 season. Darn that youth Pop Warner
Football, although they did win the Championship.

I guess being the only two guys out yesterday is telling us something. Captain Andy,
I bought Joey his own Bimini Bay Jacket yesterday as an early Christmas gift and he
loves it. It definitely helped yesterday.

When should we start the 2009 season? Looks like late April from the past water temps.

Now that we have the beach Pass I was wondering how far north we can drive. I went
as far as a red sign but I have know idea what it said I just turned around.

See you all in 2009 unless the water temp comes back up.

Merry Christmas and Happy New, Cheers.

Well it if I remember correctly last year it started around March but they looking at the Farmers Almanac it looks like maybe April this year may be the start. You can drive All the way to the end of the north end as long as they don't have the rope line up but that is generally in the summer time to help the plovers so we don't run them over. But right now you can drive to as far as it goes. Just be careful at hight tide because there are parts that come all the way up to the dunes and you will be stuck out there until the tide changes or you drive into the water.

Every thing is based on water temp.

You can drive all the way up,tide permitting, until the plover fence (the rope) goes up. This is usually the week before memorial day. They determine where the rope goes up by where they see nesting birds. Last year they cut us off right at dog poop beach but after the first nest was unsuccesfull they moved the rope North to the old Coast Gaurd piles. The rope stays up untill any newborn birds can maitain enough flight to elude predetors. That's usually the second or third week of Aug.

When the North beach is closed for the birds you may walk, or ride a bike. Technically no dogs even on leashes but some people do as they please.

This schedule is subject to change at the will of the state.

Hey Guys,

A BIG Thanks,

I am still not ready to give up our 2008 hunt, So we are looking at some late day
into the night surf fishing. :Thinking=+::?

We will try the North End by the Wreck and because of your heads up we now
know we could be out there for a while with high tide at 7:50.

Hey, it seems allot of viewers read the post, that's cool so I kindly ask everyone
to say a prayer for our troops and there families, and every so often stop one and
just say Thanks.

God Bless,

Smitty

depends on tide.
like during a full moon or storm when tides are real high it may be 1/2 the tide or sometimes not at all.
other times tide doesn't come up far enough to leep you from back at all.
haven't been out for about a month so i don't know what it is right now.

how you been buddy?
