The new Saltiga heralds a giant leap forward in design, revolving around one ground breaking material – magnetic fluid. Developed by NASA to magnetically deliver fuel to space ships and previously introduced to the Certate series, this revolutionary innovation has now been developed for Daiwa’s flagship heavy duty spinning reel.
This new metallic grease/oil actually changes shape with the introduction of a magnetic force (similar to the android in Terminator II), attaching itself to any other metal to form a super strong seal. Being magnetized this Magseal lubrication system prevents any friction or dust intrusion, eliminating oil spray and significantly improving reel life expectancy. This revolutionary magnetic oil membrane and Daiwa’s innovative design combined new CRBB bearings has made water intrusion a thing of the past.
Saltiga 10 also introduces Zaion Air Rotor. Zaion is a super strong light material is like no other – a revolutionary combination of strength and sensitivity. The rotor design disperses pressure to the entire lower section, dramatically decreasing stress and flexing.
Working in conjunction with the Mag Seal the Air Rotor has been hollowed out to create airflow through the whole rotor system. This prevents foreign material such as water, salt, sand and dust collecting inside the reel, the added air flow eliminates moist build up in the reel preventing corrosion issues.
With other designs innovations like Real Four, Hyper Digigear, UTD and Airbail the new Saltiga 10 sets the standard as the best heavy duty reel available, so then just when you thought Saltiga Z was the best you could buy, think again.
