On the Thunnus reels, Shimano's patented Baitrunner feature acts as a secondary drag system that allows an angler to feed out line in a tension-controlled free spool with the bail closed. The Thunnus reels also feature a waterproof drag system that keeps out saltwater and other debris. Shimano's Fluidrive gear cutting process provides smoothness and power while retrieving; and Super Stopper II, a Shimano designed one-way roller bearing eliminates all handle backplay for solid hook-sets. A titanium-coated Power Roller helps reduce line twist, and each reel includes a large-capacity aluminum spool.
