Today is the first day of the Striper Derby and the striper bite couldn't have started at a better time. We had 5 stripers weighed in off the Brigantine surf on Sunday with the biggest being a 16 pounder. Clams are the bait of choice since the storm smashed all the clams up in the surf. The boaters also had a nice weekend as bass are being taken with spot, eels, and clams. This should be the beginning of the season as the water temps keep falling. Remember also that these are just the resident fish that are roaming the surf, we have not seen signs of the migrating fish yet but should see them in a week or two. The striper bounty has been claimed and there is a new one that will be for the first striper weighed in at the shop weighing 25 pounds or more. It will be a 15.00 gift card + 1.00 cash for every pound over 25 pounds. REMEMBER!!! You MUST BE REGISTERED on the Riptide Bait and Tackle FORUM!!!!!
Thanks and Good Luck
Capt Andy
