The Riptide Striper Derby ended Dec 31st and there was not much change in the last two months. Jerry Miller won yet another tournament with his 33Lb 10oz monster. That striper sure let him bring home the bacon (and I thought bacon came from pigs?). B.J. Nemeth was 2nd with a 30lb 10oz bass and Walter Fenton edged out Paul Donati by catching a 29.5 pounder. With not many fish caught there was not much movement on the leader board but we still had a GREAT turn out and we will be dividing almost $3000.00 between the two charities. Hooked on Fishing and South Jersey Cancer fund will receive 100% of the money that was put into the tournament. All prizes have been donated by The Sprint/Nextel store in Absecon, AClight Tackle Charters, and Tom Devine of the Rod and Reel Bar and Restaurant. We will be having a get together at the shop in February to give out the prizes. Again I would like to thank all that participated in the tournament and made it such a great success and I look forward to having it again next year.
