There are big fish still in the area as we had a 40 and 45 pounder caught yesterday off the boats. If the wind turns East the way it's supposed to it should push the school in close to the beach so the surf anglers could have chance at possible the last school of migrating bass to swim through Brigantine. This has been the greatest Spring run of stripers off the surf that we have had in a VERY long time.Over 6 weeks of big bass and drum all over the surf. We are still waiting for the blues, kingfish, and weakfish to make a big showing to get us through the summer. The past two days have been slow for the surf anglers but today will be the indicator of what is going on. The flounder action has been steady as we weighed in a 6 and 7 pounder yesterday with more and more keepers being caught with Gulp or mackerel strips. Minnows have been hard to find and I refuse to get the small minnows at the shop. Don't get me wrong the old timers still believe in minnows but I will put Berkley Gulp against any minnow or real bait any day. I even offer a money back guarantee if you are not happy with the Gulp.In three years I have never had a complaint.
Thanks and good luck Capt Andy
