The water temp dropped 6 degrees and the bigger stripers started to realize that they had better start to eat. We had a 48" 36.5 pound striper weighed in caught off a boat on 12 pound test. A fish that long would usually weigh in the mid forty's but I guess not only was it his first meal but it was also his last :( I had another shipment of spot come up this weekend and the stripers have been taking them left and right. Joe Jr had 7 drifts with 7 bass but had no keepers. Now that the water cooled down the bigger keepers are eating and being caught on a regular basis. The guys drifting spot seem to be getting the bigger ones but the clam guys will start to bang away at the bass population soon. The beach is starting to show bass life also as guys are getting them on not just plugs but clams and bait. It just a matter of time until the all out striper run is here.
