Weak fish in the back bays
Printer FriendlyTell a Friend

Just want to say thanks to Capt Jeff (scaleman) who gave me the privilege of fishing with him on his boat last night. We put a hurting on the weakfish population and I also had my first striper on a top water plug. Unfortunately it did straighten out the hook so I never got a close look. It probably was in the 40-60 pound range but I will never know biggrin.gif . I also had the pleasure of fighting a bass on a fly rod that Capt Jeff ask me to hold for a second, needless to say that one never made the boat either. I suck! It was a pleasure being on a boat with a capt that could navigate the back waters like no one I have ever seen. I would tell you where we caught the fish but he drove the bays with such speed that my eyes were tearing up and I couldn't see a thing. Anyway it was a great time and we even caught fish as a bonus. I can't wait to do it again. Joe Jr your spot was hot, just figured I would let you know that the fish all looked hungry and they can't wait for you to get there biggrin.gif
Captain (can't land a fish) Andy

The surf is continuing to give up the usual suspects. Bass are showing up nice if you are plugging the sod banks or the surf. Still no monsters to talk about but they are getting closer to what we want.
